School Day
Drop-off and Pick-Up Times
Both sites will be open for drop-off in the morning from 08:35 – 09:00.
Both sites will be open for pick-up at the end of the day from 15:05 – 15:20 (gates will open from 15.00). Our total time open is 32.5 hours in a week.
Parents collect children from designated areas (e.g. classroom exit doors or main staircase/corridor exits directly into outside space).
- A child whose parents are not there at the end of the day will be taken to the school office and wait to be collected.
- If your child is going to be collected by somebody other than yourselves please let the class teacher/office know as soon as possible.
Parents of children in Special Provision classes, who send their children by taxi / mini bus will have their times for pick-up and drop-off confirmed by the transport provider. Those parents who walk or transport their children using their own cars will keep to their current timings.
Attendance
Please report your child's absence each day by 09:30 by ringing the school office (01304 821526), alternatively you can let us know via the School Comms App.
Our School Day
The School day at Whitfield Aspen School begins at 8:35am when the gates open for the children to walk to class, registration follows for all children at 9:00am. Children who arrive after this time should report to the school office accompanied by their parent/carer.
Morning Playtime
Children have a morning break which lasts 15 minutes.
Lunch
Children have lunch between 12:00 and 13:00.
Afternoon Playtime
Younger children Year 1, 2 have an afternoon playtime for approximately 10 minutes.

Year 3, Year 2, Year 1, Year R, Chipmunk, Bobcat, Badger, Raccoon, Starfish, Meerkat, Firefly and Turtle
Richmond Site
Year 6, Year 5, Year 4, Chameleon, Eagle, Panther, Bluebird, Butterfly, Kangaroo, Robin and Puffin.
Breakfast and Afterschool Club
At both Mayfield and Richmond we hold a Breakfast and Afterschool club which all children are able to access, if your child requires any medication to be given during these times please speak with the office before your child attends.
Breakfast club opening hours are from 8.00am - 8.45am
Afterschool club opening hours 3.15pm -6pm
Breakfast Club £3.50 per session
Breakfast club includes toast and juice with a range of both dairy and gluten free options to all children who attend.
After School Club up until 4.30pm £4.10
Extended session until 5pm £5.00
Extended session until 6pm £8.00
Extended sessions must be pre-booked by the Friday of the week before.
Currently no food is provided at After School Club but we encourage that children bring in suitable snacks with them.
Children should be collected from reception for After School Club.
