Welcome

Welcome to Whitfield Aspen School

Welcome to our school website—it's wonderful to have you here!

My name is Jason Cook and as Headteacher, I am incredibly proud to lead such a warm, inclusive, and vibrant community that spans across our two sites – Mayfield and Richmond.  Locally, we are known for the way we include our 200 strong SRP and 460 strong mainstream departments, into our ‘one school’ ethos.  Whilst we are based on different locations, we come together as one school family, united by the shared values of ‘Learning Together, with Aspiration, Imagination and Determination’, high expectations, and a genuine commitment to every child’s success.

At our school, every pupil is valued for who they are. We celebrate individuality, champion diversity, and ensure that all children have the opportunities, resources, and support they need to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, confident, and excited about their learning.

We are delighted to be recognised by Ofsted as a Good school, reflecting the hard work, care, and passion that shines through every day. Our results continue to be strong, and we remain committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

Beyond the classroom, we offer a wonderful range of enrichment opportunities. Our Breakfast Club and After‑School Club provide a welcoming, supportive space for children at the start and end of the school day, helping busy families and offering pupils even more chances to play, learn, and grow.

Whether you are a current parent, a prospective family, or simply interested in our school, I hope this website gives you a real sense of who we are and what we stand for. Please do get in touch or come and visit—we would love to show you our school in action.

Warmest wishes,

Jason Cook

Our Local Community

Whitfield is an ancient village and civil parish in the county of Kent, some four miles north of Dover. The original village, Church Whitfield, has a 10th Century Saxon Church which was restored and enlarged in 1894. The modern village grew up alongside what was to become the A2 trunk road. The population in 2020 was 5797 people and will look to increase with the Richmond way house development. The village has many shops and amenities and is close to the White Cliffs Business Park.

Many people from the local community serve on our board of governors.

It is part of Dover District Council and is also represented by Whitfield Parish Council.
